SEPHONY.AI
Cryptographic accountability for AI and autonomous action. Built for the frameworks regulated industries already operate within.
AI is moving from advice to action
Models are now invoking tools, sending money, signing things, dispatching workflows. The capability question is largely settled. The governance question is not.
Audit logs are not accountability
Reconstructable records written after the fact do not prove an action was authorised. They describe it. For regulated decisions, that gap is the problem.
Upstream governance
Sephony's architecture makes the chain-anchored evidence record itself the authorisation for execution, not a reference to authorisation that happened elsewhere.
The runtime governance helix
Sephony is built around a runtime governance helix: a distributed ledger as the governance core, deterministic and inferential logic as the middle layer, and the people and systems participating in a workflow as the outer boundary. Workflows pass through the helix as many times as the chain-anchored governance records require. Each pass re-confirms permissions, parameters, and conditions against current chain state.
Chain-anchored governance
Permissions, operative parameters, and conditions live on a distributed ledger as the authoritative source of governance state. No single actor can modify them.
Pre-execution evidence sealing
Before any governed action executes, an evidence record is sealed to the ledger. The existence of that record is the authorisation. It cannot be reconstructed after the fact.
Inference as transport, not authority
AI reasoning systems and agents construct candidate actions. Decision authority sits in the chain-anchored configuration.
How Sephony works
Three functions, in sequence, every time.
Authorise Chain-anchored permissions, parameters, and conditions decide whether an action may proceed. The rules live on the distributed ledger, not in application code, and cannot be modified by any single actor.
Prove Before the action executes, an evidence record is sealed to the ledger. The record is contemporaneous with the decision, not derived from the outcome. Its existence is the authorisation.
Execute The action runs, gated by the two steps above. If either fails, execution does not occur. Not by policy, but by architecture.
Authorise → Prove → Execute. Forward-looking by design. Where audit reconstructs what happened, Sephony's evidence record exists before the action and is the action's authorisation.
Governance for AI that acts
Sephony's runtime governance helix, pre-execution evidence sealing, and chain-anchored authority architecture are the subject of UK patent application GB2508279.6. Sephony is engineered for enterprise deployment in regulated industries. We are speaking with institutional investors and enterprise design partners in financial services, insurance, life sciences, and professional services. These are sectors where AI deployment is gated less by capability and more by accountability.
